Abhishek Sharma highest score: It was raining fours and sixes in Hyderabad last night. The fans would have the most exciting night of their lives when they became part of this historic win where SRH pulled off something miraculous. Looking at the form SRH were in and the humongous total that they were chasing, it was almost like writing on the wall that it was Punjab’s game to win.

Meanwhile, he shattered records and went on to score his first IPL hundred, the highest individual runs by an Indian in the IPL and the third highest individual score in the history of IPL. It is also the third quickest by an Indian batter in an IPL match after Yusuf Pathan (37 balls) and Priyansh Arya (39 balls). Abhishek is the first to score three T20 hundreds in under 40 balls.

Such was the impact of this innings that it made Punjab Kings mamooth total look dwarf. It was utterly surprising that SRH managed to scale this Everest with 9 balls to spare.

The target of 246 chased down by Sunrisers Hyderabad against Punjab Kingsis the second-highest ever successfully chased total in IPL history. It comes second to the 262 runs chased by Punjab Kings against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens last year. This is also the fourth highest successful chase in all T20 cricket.

10 sixes hit by Abhishek Sharma is the most sixes by an SRH batter in an IPL innings. There are six SRH batters with eight sixes each in an IPL innings.

24 boundaries hit by Abhishek in this innings is the joint-second most in an IPL innings after Chris Gayle’s hit 30 boundaries against Pune Warriors in 2013. Yashasvi Jaiswal also hit 24 boundaries against the Mumbai Indians at Wankhede in 2023.

19 balls taken by Abhishek Sharma for his fifty, is the joint-third fastest by an SRH batter in IPL. This is his third fifty in less than 20 balls in the IPL. Only Nicholas Pooran has the most number of fifties while facing less than 20 balls in this tournament – 4.

171 runspartnership between Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head against PBKS is the second second-highest opening stand for Sunrisers in IPL after the 185 runs added by David Warner and Jonny Bairstow against RCB at Hyderabad in 2019. This is also the second-highest opening stand against PBKS after 181* between Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson for CSK at Dubai in the 2020 IPL.

7 sixes were conceded by Mohammed Shami in his four-over spell against Sunrisers today. This is the joint second-most sixes conceded by a bowler in an IPL match after Yash Dayal conceded eight sixes against KKR in Ahmedabad in 2023.
