DC vs RR Super Over
Mitchell Starc was adjudged as the POM yesterday night

DC vs RR Super Over: The first super over of this season ended in the favour of Delhi Capitals, thanks to some amazing toe-crushing bowling by Mitchell Starc, one of the finest ballers of the current generation.

Batting first after losing the toss, Delhi put up a decent total of 188 runs on the board. Abhishek Porel gave a good start to the Delhi’s innings by scoring 49 runs in 37 balls and KL Rahul gave stability to the innings in the middle overs after two quick wickets of Fraser-McGurk and Karun Nair. In death overs, Stubbs, Axar and Ashutosh Sharma played some great shots to finish the innings on a high.

In reply Rajasthan Royals were given a flying start to the innings by two young flamboyant Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson adding 63 runs in the batting powerplay. While everything was going fine, Sanju Samson suddenly got injured in the final over of the powerplay while playing a shot off the delivery of Vipraj Nigam and he got retired hurt. But Jaiswal and Nitish Rana continued the onslaught before Jaiswal getting out in the 14th over.

When it looked like Nitish Rana would easily take his team through, Starc striked in his own style with a toe crushing yorker on the middle stump and Nitish was out LBW. Starc didn’t concede a boundary in the final over where just 9 runs were needed for RR to wiin and match ended in a tie.

In the super over too Starc continued displaying the class of fast bowling with pinpoint execution and gave away just 11 runs including 1 free-hit. RR lost both the wickets in just 5 balls, both being run out and thus couldn’t even play the last ball of the super over. In retaliation DC easily chased down the target of 12 runs in 4 balls when Tristun Stubbs hit a six off the bowling of Sandip Sharma.

Delhi Capitals with this win moves onto the top of the points table with 5 wins in 6 matches and Rajasthan are currently placed 8th with 2 wins and 5 losses in 7 matches.
