CSK vs KKR IPL 2025: CSK’s poor run in this season doesn’t seem to come to an end. In yesterday’s match vs KKR, they were again thrashed by KKR by 8 wickets and this was also their biggest defeat in terms of balls remaining in IPL
This is also the first time in IPL history that CSK have lost five matches in a row and this is also the first time CSK have lost three games in a row at Chepauk in a season.
This was a much hyped match due to return of MS Dhoni as captain and CSK fans had much hope on their home ground because of 4 consecutive losses in the previous matches. But it didn’t turn out to be the way fans were hoping.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, there was a collective failure from batters and they could manage to score just 103 runs after 20 overs, one of their lowest score in IPL. KKR easily chased down the target in 10.1 overs giving a strong boost to their run rate. Sunil Narayan was chosen as the player of the match for his 3 wickets and 44 runs of 18 balls including 5 sixes.
Currently after playing 6 matches each, KKR stands at number number 3 and CSK stands at number 9 on the points table.
After being injured Rituraj Gaikwad is out of the tournament and Dhoni has been named once again as the captain of CSK. After this loss the chances of qualification of CSK has become glim and it will be interesting to see how Dhoni helps his team to qualify for the playoffs.
