India tour of England 2025: After the conclusion of IPL, all eyes will be set on the upcoming tour of England which is going to be a very crucial tour for team India given it marks the commencement of the new World Test Championship cycle.
It is also going to be a challenge for young Indian team as it will be the first series after the retirement of the legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli from test cricket. Jaspreet Bumrah is the top contender to take up the captaincy role after Rohit Sharma.

After the postponement of IPL owing to the cross border conflict and tension, BCCI has released the new schedule of the remaining part of the IPL according to which the tournament will conclude on 3 June. Thereafter team India will play 5 tests in England starting from 20th June 2025 at Headingley.
- 1st Test – 20-24 June 2025 – Headingley
- 2nd Test – 2-6 July 2025 – Edgbaston
- 3rd Test – 10-14 July 2025 – Lord’s
- 4th Test – 23-27 July 2025 – Old Trafford
- 5th Test – 31July-04 August – Kennington Oval
After this long tour, India will tour Bangladesh to play 3 ODIs and 3 T20s in the month of August.

As of now neither team has declared their squad. It is going to be announced soon. It is probable that Indian team may be announced on 16th or 17th of May.

All the matches will start on 10:00 GMT and 15:30 IST and it will be live streamed on Sony Network television and Sony Liv mobile application.
The retirement of Rohit and Virat has left a void which will be very difficult to fill in. The sudden decision of both the greats has made this team quite unstable at the moment and it will take some time for the new captain and the young team to get used to playing without Rohit and Virat especially big series against Australia and England at home or away.

Before the start of the series, Indian team is also going to play a few warmup matches for which India A team will be announced. India A will play two warmup matches against England Lions from 30 May-02 June & 6-9 June and one match against senior India side from 13-16 June.
This series will show the roadmap of the new Indian team for the future. Jaspreet Bumrah has shown his capabilities as a leader and he may be the first choice other than Shubhman Gill who may be selected as his deputy. It remains to be seen how this new era of Indian cricket fares in the future.
