The much anticipated wait of Bumrah’s comeback came to an end in this match. However, he looked a bit rusty and couldn’t take a wicket and conceded 29 runs in his quota of 4 overs.
MI after winning the toss elected to field but this decision proved to be costly as RCB hammered 73 runs in the powerplay with the loss of just 1 wicket, credit to Virat Kohli for his quick fire 67 runs of 42 balls. Rajat Patidar, the captain himself took the charge in middle overs and Jitesh Sharma finished it off with his cameo of 42 runs off 19 balls including 4 stunning sixes which took the total to a mammoth 221 runs after 20 overs.
For Mumbai, Hardik and Tilak Verma tried to take the game close but couldn’t take his team to the crossing line and finally fell short by 12 runs.
MI’s bad run continues and this is their fourth loss in five matches that they have played so far.
