IPL 2025: Young Priyansh Arya smashes Ashwin for 28 runs….scores fastest IPL hundred by an uncapped player

Priyansh Arya: Before auction of IPL had started, Ravichandran Ashwin, in a talk show on his YouTube channel “Ash ki bat”, had predicted that the young lad Priyansh Arya from Delhi is a promising talent to watch out for in recent future and Priyansh has made his words true by scoring maiden century in his debut IPL this season. In yesterday’s match between Punjab Kings and CSK, he charged Ashwin for 28 runs in 10 balls that he faced, hitting 3 big sixes. Interestingly, while hitting the 3rd six off the bowling of Ashwin, the fielder at long-on had taken the catch but his left leg touched the boundary rope and thus umpire gave it a six and Arya survived.

Priyansh looked in sublime form right from the first ball of the innings when he cut the ball off Khalil Ahmad over point for a six and kept on hitting boundaries, though wickets were falling on the other side at regular intervals. Punjab Kings were tottering at 83-5 in 8 overs but due to Priyansh Arya’s hundred and Shashank Singh’s 36 ball 52 runs in the latter part of the innings, they managed to reach a total of 219 runs in 20 overs. Punjab Kings won the match by 18 runs.

Priyansh Arya age and biography

Born and brought up in Delhi, the 24 year old southpaw is known for his six hitting ability with ease. He holds the record for hitting six sixes in an over against left arm spinner Manan Bhardwaj in an encounter between North Delhi Strikers and South Delhi Superstarz in Delhi Premier League where playing for the latter, Arya scored 120 of 50 deliveries and helped his team to reach the total of 308/5 after 20 overs.
