Sahibzada Farhan after scoring century

Sahibzada Farhan’s 106 runs off 52 balls including 13 boundaries and 5 sixes helped Islamabad United to register victory by a big margin of 102 runs. This is their second win in as many matches in PSL 2025 and are currently placed at the top of the points table.

This innings makes him the first Pakistani batter to record four T20 centuries in a calendar year within just nine innings. Sahibzada Farhan also became the fifth player in the world to achieve this feat, joining Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, Jos Buttler, and Shubman Gill.

Opting to bat first, IU did not have the best start, as their opener Andries Gous was run out in the 2nd over of the innings, thanks to brilliant fielding from Tom Kohler-Cadmore. But Sahibzada Farhan and Colin Munro forged a brilliant partnership of 144 runs in 71 balls to lay down a strong foundation for Islamabad United. Later Salman Agha (30 runs 15 balls 4×2 and 6×2) and other batters finished off the innings at a massive total of 243 runs in 20 overs.

In retaliation, Peshawar Zalmi crumbled under pressure and fell well short of the target. They were bundled out for 141 runs in 18.1 overs, getting thrashed by 102 runs. Other than the wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Harris, no other batter could show up and got out cheaply hitting big shots.

Before this innings against Peshawar, Farhan has already hit three centuries earlier this year. While featuring for the Peshawar Region, Farhan slammed an unbeaten 114(59) to steer his side to a commanding 8-wicket triumph on March 15. Within a week, Farhan had his second T20 century against Quetta with his scorching 162* from 72 deliveries. Five days later, Farhan cracked another century in the semi-final of Pakistan’s National T20 Cup versus Abbottabad with his 148(72) and lifted Peshawar to a comfortable 56-run victory.

Known for his aggressive style of batting, young Sahibzada Farhan Farhan smashed four half centuries along with a magnificent century during the Pakistan Cup and grabbed the eye balls of many cricket experts in Pakistan. Apart from that his average of 45-plus in T20s makes him an exciting player to watch out for.

Sahibzada Farhan made his T20 International debut back in 2018 on 08th of July against Australia in a tri-series in Harare, Zimbabwe where he was stumped out on a golden duck. Though it wasn’t an ideal debut for Farhan, Pakistan still managed to win the match by six wickets owing to a superb knock of 91 runs off 46 balls by opener Fakhar Zaman.
